Sidney Spit Ferry

Accessible only by water, Sidney Spit, a part of Gulf Islands National Park Reserve is one of the region’s best places to lose yourself for the day. Take a 25 minute scenic ride on-board the Alpine Sidney Spit Ferry. Salt marshes, tidal flats and beautiful beaches make Sidney Spit a great time for beachcombing, hiking, camping or just soaking up the sun.

Sidney Spit is a popular family destination with its bird and marine life providing lots to explore.

The Vessel “Alpine II”

The Alpine ll is 50 Ft catamaran (fully equipped with life vests), that holds up to 41 passengers. This vessel is powered by Volvo twin diesel engine and can travel up to 12 knots.

Some helpful hints on planning your next Sidney Spit Adventure:

  • Be sure to pack food and supplies as there are no services on Sidney Spit
  • Sidney Spit has portable washrooms available
  • Alpine Sidney Spit Ferry does not allow bikes on board
  • Alpine Sidney Spit Ferry permits dogs on leashes only

FARES & SCHEDULE

Tickets can be purchased at the kiosk attached to the Pier Bistro, located at the end of the Beacon Pier.

Tickets can be paid for by Visa, Mastercard or Cash.

Tickets are sold 30 minutes prior to the sailing, and are on a first come, first serve basis.

Group reservations are available in advance for groups of 20 or more, please call 250-474-5145 to book.

Children under 1 are free, passengers with infants are encouraged to bring an infant lifejacket as our vessel does not carry infant sized lifejackets.

Kayaks and Bicycles are not permitted on the vessel, dogs are permitted on a leash, and owners are responsible for animal clean up.

NOTICE TO VISITORS: The Sidney Spit water system is undergoing maintenance and there will be no water available until further notice. This includes both the day use area and the campground. Visitors are advised to bring enough water for their party for the duration of their trip. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and are working to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
